BURNING PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS: Burning season runs from Jan. 15 through May 1. Burning permits can be purchased from the North Brookfield Fire Department every Saturday beginning Jan. 8, from 8 a.m. to noon at the firehouse. When people arrive at the firehouse, they should call 508-867-0210 and provide their information to the firefighter on shift, and they will bring a permit out to you. Burning permits are $20 and can be paid for with cash or check made out to the Town of North Brookfield.
Awards
The North Brookfield Fire Dept. is happy to announce that we were awarded FY22 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant for $10,835.00 to purchase 32 sets of Brush Fire Gear. Before now, NBFD has never had the budget to buy this type of gear for our Firefighters . Members had to buy their own or wear Structural Fire Gear which is very heavy and hot fighting brush fires.
